Alabama faces Ohio State in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game from Hard Rock Stadium in South Florida.

No. 1 Alabama (12-0, 11-0 SEC) beat Notre Dame 31-14 in the Rose Bowl CFP semifinal in Arlington, Texas. They boast one of the best offenses in the modern era of Crimson Tide football, including Heisman Trophy-winning receiver DeVonta Smith and finalist quarterback Mac Jones.

No. 3 Ohio State (7-0, 6-0 Big Ten) beat Clemson 49-28 in the Sugar Bowl. Quarterback Justin Fields was injured in the Sugar Bowl but expects to play for the title.

The Buckeyes won the teams’ most recent matchup, which came in the 2015 Sugar Bowl in a CFP semifinal.
