Tomorrowland 2020 Live

With the summer festival season halted by the coronavirus crisis, one of Europe’s most popular gatherings, Tomorrowland, is set to go digital with a spectacular event this weekend, the likes of which has never been seen before.

First held in 2005, the electronic dance music (EDM) festival is among the biggest music events in the world, which last year brought together some 400,000 dancers in the aptly named town of Boom in Belgium.

This year, like every year, Tomorrowland’s organisers had compiled a stellar line-up of the biggest names in EDM, including Armin van Burren, Carl Cox, Steve Aoki, Tiesto and David Guetta.

However, it came as no surprise when this year’s festival was cancelled on 15 April, as the coronavirus pandemic was at its peak in Europe. But all is not lost for festival goers, as the innovative organisers have launched Tomorrowland Around the World: The Digital Festival.

Live streaming has become the norm in these troubled times for artists and fans starved of live experiences. And Tomorrowland Around the World promises to be an extravaganza of EDM’s finest talents, who will beam their beats around the world to ticketholders for the digital festival, which takes place over the course of this weekend, Saturday, 25 July and Sunday, 26 July.

Tomorrowland Around the World is set to be a fully-immersive digital festival experience, with eight separate stages featuring a total of 60 artists, chat rooms, games, webinars, interactive meetings, and DJ workshops.

Valdez vs Velez

The Top Rank Boxing on ESPN Summer Series from The Bubble at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America, has been running at least twice a week since June 9, but tonight at 8 pm ET we close out the first stretch of fights from the show, with Oscar Valdez facing Jayson Velez in the junior lightweight main event.

Top Rank won’t have new cards for at least a few weeks, it would seem, as everyone involved gets to take a bit of a break from a rapid-fire schedule that came with a lot of headaches and frustration for all involved, but some good fights, too.

Valdez, 29, is a former featherweight titleholder who came up to 130 pounds last year to chase Miguel Berchelt’s WBC belt, and this is expected — or at least hoped — to be the last step on that chase. Berchelt won a stay-busy in June in Mexico City, and while Valdez is taking a much tougher matchup against the 32-year-old Velez, he is still expected to win, and all four of our staffers have him doing so.

The co-feature will see super middleweight prospect Edgar Berlanga, 23, look to make it 14 straight first round knockout wins to start his career, as he faces Eric Moon, a 29-year-old club fighter from the south. Former 122-pound titleholder Isaac Dogboe is also back in action, as he returns as a featherweight to face battle-worn Chris Avalos in an eight-round bout, and we’ll also see junior welterweight prospect Elvis Rodriguez, plus ESPN human interest favorite Kim Clavel.

NASCAR All-Star Race 2020

NASCAR Cup Series drivers are gearing up for Wednesday night’s NASCAR All-Star Race at Bristol Motor Speedway (8:30 p.m. ET, FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

Below is a primer for what’s sure to be a wild showdown under the lights at the .533-mile concrete Tennessee short track, which begins with the NASCAR All-Star Open at 7 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Bristol Motor Speedway is a .533-mile oval that held its first Cup Series event on July 30, 1961. For just the second time since the race’s inception in 1985, the NASCAR All-Star Race will be held away from the traditional stop at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The race was hosted at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 1986, won by Dawsonville, Georgia native Bill Elliott.

The track’s concrete surface measures 650 feet long in the straightaways and the variable banking in the turns ranges from 24 to 28 degrees. The frontstretch is banked from 5 to 9 degrees and the backstraight is angled at a 4- to 8-degree tilt.

The 16 drivers locked in for the 2020 NASCAR All-Star Race had their starting positions decided by a random draw.

Martin Truex Jr. will start on the pole in the No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, joined on the front row by Alex Bowman in the No. 88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet. See the full lineup by clicking the link below.

The 2020 NASCAR rules package for short tracks will be in effect with a tapered spacer used to set a target of 750 horsepower. The cars will use a reduced downforce package with a shorter spoiler, a shorter splitter overhang and other aerodynamic changes.

Tune in to television coverage from Bristol Motor Speedway on FS1 (Wednesday, 8:30 p.m. ET) and the FOX Sports App. For full radio coverage, listen in to MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio on-air.

Quaker State 400

The Quaker State 400 presented by Walmart, commonly known as simply the Quaker State 400, is a 400.5-mile (644.5 km) annual NASCAR Cup Series race held at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Kentucky.

The inaugural event was held on July 9, 2011 and was won by Kyle Busch. From 2012 to 2014, the race was held the week before the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway on Independence Day weekend. From 2015 to 2017, the event moved back two weeks, preceding Daytona and New Hampshire, In 2018, the Quaker State became the 19th race of the season as the New Hampshire 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway will become the 20th race of the season. Cole Custer is the defending winner.

NBC returned to NASCAR broadcasting with the 2015 running of the Quaker State 400 after four years on TNT.

The event eventuated following a lawsuit in which Kentucky Speedway claimed NASCAR had violated federal antitrust laws in 2005. In 2008, the speedway was sold to Bruton Smith, hoping that the track could hold a race by 2011 and after four years, the former speedway owners abandoned the lawsuit.[1] In August 2010, NASCAR announced that the track could hold a Cup Series event in 2011.Seven months later, Royal Dutch Shell’s Quaker State brand was announced as sponsor and the 267 laprace held on July 9, was won by Kyle Busch. The race was plagued by a massive traffic problem where many of the fans who expected to attend the race were turned away after several hours on Interstate 71. Following the problem, Kentucky Speedway announced that they bought more land for parking and began to work with the state government to improve traffic around the speedway in time for the 2012 race.

Yan vs Aldo Live

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight strikers Jose Aldo and Petr Yan will duel this Saturday (July 11, 2020) at UFC 251 from “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

If Aldo had retired in 2017 following his pair of losses to Max Holloway, the Brazilian would still go down in history as an all-time great, the legendary low kicker who destroyed wrestlers and didn’t lose for nearly a decade. However, Aldo is still on the quest to recapture gold, though this is likely his final opportunity. Alternatively, Yan only joined UFC two years ago! However, the boxer was already facing pretty fearsome competition in Russia, so it should not be a surprise that his transition into the Octagon was smooth. He’s risen through the ranks with remarkable speed, but he still faces a major obstacle to the title.

Aldo is likely the best boxer Yan has ever faced, which creates the potential for a uniquely high-level MMA boxing match. Given the propensity for both men to do such effective work with their hands, the jab becomes especially important. In Aldo’s case, he wants to establish the jab to help interrupt Yan’s long, shifting combinations. In addition, flashing the jab and ripping the body would be lovely to see.

Volkanovski vs Holloway Live

Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway tangle in strap battle for the featherweight title on the main card at UFC 251 Saturday at the UFC’s Fight Island facility on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The prelims kick off at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN+, followed by the main card set for 10 p.m. ET on Pay-Per-View.

Volkanovski (21-1) has what Holloway (21-5) wants, and what was once his – the featherweight championship. The Australian defeated Holloway last time out at UFC 245 by unanimous decision in a co-main event on the Usman-Covington card Dec. 14, 2019. In fact, Volkanovski’s last loss was seven years ago, falling to Corey Nelson via TKO (punches) May 9, 2013 at AFC 5: Australian Fighting Championship. Since arriving on the UFC scene, Volkanovski has won each of his eight fights, with three KO/TKO and five unanimous decision victories.

Holloway (21-5) lost his belt to Dustin Poirier at UFC 236, but bounced back with a win over Frankie Edgar at UFC 240 to scratch back to the top. However, as mentioned above, Holloway was edged by Volkanovski at UFC 245 in his most recent bout. Each of Holloway’s past three events have ended in unanimous decision, two being losses. He has fought into the third round in each of his past nine events, so don’t expect a quick finish to this one.

Usman vs Masvidal Live

UFC 251 is going to be more watchable than ever. Most assumed that the welterweight title would no longer be on the line this Saturday after Gilbert Burns tested positive for COVID-19 and was removed from UFC 251’s main event title fight against Kamaru Usman.

The fight will go on, thanks to Jorge Masvidal, who is perhaps the UFC’s most high profile welterweight.

Masvidal has officially passed a mandatory COVID-19 test, so now the man they call Street Jesus — who most recently beat Nate Diaz for the one-off BMF title — will be replacing Gilbert Burns and facing off against Usman in the main event of UFC 251.

Which is great news for fans. Usman versus Masvidal is the fight most people wanted to see in the first place. Previous negotiations between UFC boss Dana White and Masvidal had gone awry, forcing White to go with Burns instead, but desperate times call for desperate measures and it looks like White and Masvidal got the deal done at the 11th hour. This blockbuster title fight is now a go.

Right now Masvidal is one of the most charismatic and high profile fighters in the UFC, so this one should be a biggie. As a style match-up it’s fascinating. Masvidal is a striker with world-class take down defense. Usman is a grinding wrestler, with a great gas tank and an evolving kickboxing game. Given this is a short-notice fight for Masvidal, Usman will be the betting favorite — but remember what happened the last time Masvidal faced off against a grinding wrestler?
